Next-gen Xiaomi Watch emerges with monster battery upgrade and eSIM in new leak
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch another new smartwatch, according to prolific leaker Digital Chat Station. Should that be the case, it might debut with a significant upgrade that might help address one of the category's biggest historical drawbacks.
The eminent tipster asserts that the next Xiaomi Watch will pack a battery with a capacity of no less than 586mAh: more than that of the 2 and 2 Pro, not to mention the more niche S3 (now available on Amazon) and H1.
It may also have a round OLED display and support standalone connectivity, although no particularly advanced health-tracking features have been mentioned thus far.
Nevertheless, this new wearable might be equipped to put rivals such as the OnePlus Watch 2 squarely in its crosshairs on its release, especially if it really has fast 10W charging.
Then again, it seems it will not have the in-demand Wear OS 4 platform to match; instead, Xiaomi apparently plans to install the in-house software Surge OS instead.
