A few days have passed since Digital Chat Station shared early information about a possible next-generation Xiaomi smartwatch. To recap, the leaker shared a few details about the device, including its battery capacity, display style and its panel type. However, they refrained from revealing the name of the smartwatch, let alone any concrete information.
Subsequently, what appears to be the same smartwatch has appeared in a new regulatory filing on China's TAF database. Unfortunately, the regulatory filing does not provide any technical details about the smartwatch, which carries the model number 'M2312W1'. With that being said, the M2312W1 is reminiscent of the Watch 2 Pro (curr. $259.99 on Amazon) or Watch S3 that Xiaomi released last year.
As such, M2312W1 has a round display, which is expected to be an OLED panel. Additionally, it has a pronounced bezel, next to which sits a digital crown and two other physical buttons. Moreover, the smartwatch has an eSIM for LTE connectivity and a 586 mAh battery that supports 10 W charging. In other words, the M2312W1 should achieve better battery life than the Watch 2 Pro or Watch S3, which feature 486 mAh and 495 mAh batteries, respectively. It remains to be seen in what markets the M2312W1 will be available though, let alone its retail name.
