New compact Casio digital watches with day counter feature launch

Casio has launched three new G-Shock Baby-G BG-169KB watches in Japan. These round digital watches are described by the brand as having "sparkling" design elements with an overall Y2K look.
The new Casio Baby-G BG-169KB watches each have a ring of diamond-like gems around the watch face, with bull bars and a large "G" button. The BG-169KB-1 has a black resin casing and strap with a dark gray glitter face. The BG-169KB-4 is a light pink watch with a silver tone face, while the BG-169KB-4B1 has a dark pink case and strap, with a darker pink glitter dial. This compact model measures 45.9 x 42.6 x 16.4 mm (~1.81 x 1.7 x 0.65 inches) and weighs 43 g (~1.52 oz).
Casio's BG-169 has two digital displays and a digital indicator. On the larger lower screen, users can view the date and time in their chosen time zone, with 30 cities on offer. The smaller screen can display the day of the week, and the indicator is linked to some of the watch's tools. These include a stopwatch, a timer, alarms and hourly time signals. This model also offers two more unusual features: a day counter, showing the number of days from today to a set date in the future, and the ability to store up to 25 phone numbers.
You can now pre-order the Casio G-Shock Baby-G BG-169KB-1, BG-169KB-4 and BG-169KB-4B1 watches in Japan for ¥13,750 (~$87) each. They should be released in this market later in May 2026. Whether or when they could reach the US, where you can buy older versions like the BG-169R-7BM (curr. $80.83 at Amazon), remains to be seen.
