Casio’s new GMD-B300 series adds step tracking and Bluetooth to a compact G-Shock design. Priced at ¥17,600 (~$113), the two watches offer 200 m water resistance, app sync, and lightweight wear, with pre-orders now live ahead of a May 2026 release.

Casio just introduced a new set of compact G-Shock models under the GMD-B300 series, with pre-orders now live in Japan ahead of a May 2026 release. The lineup is characterized by smaller case sizing, basic fitness tracking, and everyday usability.

The two models - GMD-B300-2JF in navy and GMD-B300-7JF in an off-white tone - share the same core design and feature set. Both watches measure 46.4 × 43.8 × 12 mm and weighing 41 grams. The reduced size should make them easier to wear for extended periods, especially for users who find traditional G-Shocks bulky.

The GMD-B300 series gets a built-in step tracker, which automatically counts steps throughout the day and displays both daily totals and progress toward a set goal. The watch also shows step graphs broken down by time intervals. Plus, Bluetooth connectivity is included, which means the watch can sync with the Casio Watches app. Through the app, users can manage activity logs, adjust settings, and access additional data like step history and basic timekeeping adjustments. It’s more of a light integration than anything else.

The watches come with standard digital G-Shock functionality. This includes dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer, five alarms, and a full auto-calendar. The LED backlight supports auto-light functionality and adjustable duration, while a power-saving mode helps extend battery life. Casio rates the battery at around two years, which is shorter than some of its simpler digital models but expected given the added tracking and Bluetooth features.

Construction sticks to resin, but Casio is using biomass-based plastic for the case and band. Water resistance is rated at 200 meters. Despite the smaller form factor, the watches keep shock resistance and the brand's signature rugged build.

Pricing is set at ¥17,600 (around $110-120 depending on conversion). Pre-orders are currently open in Japan, with wider availability likely to follow.
