Casio's new slim retro hybrid watches now live for sale in the US for under $70

Casio has finally listed three new AQ240E variants on sale on its US storefront. The recently listed AQ240E-2A, AQ240E-4A, and AQ240E-7A2 are now available for $69.95 each.
The AQ240E series has both analog and digital displays, enclosed in a compact rectangular case that resembles late-1970s and early-1980s designs. These models, however, take a softer approach, with brushed silver-tone cases and pastel dial colors - all of which translates to a cleaner overall layout.
All three variants share the same specs. The case measures 40.9 × 35.8 × 8.1 mm and weighs 51 grams. The watches use a resin and chrome-plated case construction paired with a stainless steel bracelet and adjustable clasp.
The dial colors are quite interesting. The AQ240E-2A uses a light blue sunray finish, the AQ240E-4A switches to peach-orange, while the AQ240E-7A2 goes for a softer cream tone. In all three cases, the digital display sits discreetly at 6 o’clock beneath a minimal analog handset layout.
Functionality is basic but practical. Features include dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, daily alarm, hourly time signal, and a small auto-calendar programmed for February’s 28-day cycle. Battery life is rated at roughly three years on an SR920W cell.
Unlike Casio’s recent Bluetooth-enabled releases (like the GMD-B300 series), the AQ240E series is intentionally simple. There’s no smart functionality, no oversized case, and no attempt to modernize the formula beyond color choices and finishing.
