Casio's new affordable watches with 10-year battery now available to buy

Casio has quietly rolled out a new pair of budget digital watches in the US, which were previously unveiled in other regions like the EU (read more about that here). They are both built around a simple idea - long battery life without raising the price too much. The AE1600HX series is now available to buy, with two variants listed at $45.95 each.
The lineup includes the AE1600HX-1BV in black and the AE1600HX-3AV in an olive green finish. Both models share the same core design: a large, rugged case with a wide LCD display that should be great for readability. The styling is somewhat tactical, especially on the green version, but overall this is a straightforward utility watch above everything else.
The main feature here is the claimed 10-year battery life, powered by a CR2032 cell. This puts it in line with some of Casio’s longer-lasting digital models and makes it a low-maintenance option for everyday use. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, which is typical for this segment and enough for basic swimming and outdoor use.
Case size comes in at 54.1 × 49.7 × 15.9 mm, with a weight of 55 grams. The watch uses a full resin construction, including the case, bezel, and strap. One key detail is the "extra long strap," which uses a dual-hole design for finer adjustment and a more secure fit, especially during movement.
The watches feature dual time, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer with auto-repeat, and five alarms with one snooze function. There’s also a full auto-calendar (set to 2099), 12/24-hour format, and an LED backlight with afterglow for low-light visibility.
The display differs slightly between the two variants. The black model uses a negative LCD, which looks cleaner but can be harder to read in some lighting conditions. The green version uses a more traditional positive display. Alternatively, you can check out the Casio F108WH-1ACF on Amazon.
