New Seiko limited-edition collab watch launches with individually numbered case back

Seiko's collaboration with Initial D is now continuing into its second installment. This one, however, is built around Keisuke Takahashi's yellow FD3S RX-7 rather than his brother Ryosuke's white FC3S. The chronograph is limited to 1,995 individually serialized pieces worldwide (a number chosen to mark 1995, the year Shuichi Shigeno's manga first ran). This is the same anniversary logic Seiko used for the Takumi Fujiwara AE86 "panda dial" version of this collaboration that shipped in December 2025.

The design looks very faithful to the source material. A bright yellow dial references the FD3S's body paint, set against a black bezel. The three chronograph sub-dials are rendered in red to reflect the car's glowing dashboard gauges. The 12 o'clock marker is molded into the shape of a Wankel rotary engine's triangular rotor, which is a reference to the RX-7's actual engine architecture, while the RedSuns team logo sits at 3 o'clock alongside Seiko's branding. Each case back carries an individual serial number alongside artwork of Keisuke and his car, and the whole package ships in a yellow presentation box printed with Initial D and RedSuns branding.

Specs are a little less interesting, since there's nothing new here. Buyers get a 47 x 39.8 x 12.8 mm stainless steel case and bracelet, Hardlex crystal, 10 ATM water resistance, and accuracy rated to ±15 seconds a month. Official Japanese retail runs ¥65,780 (about $410) through Premico, Seiko's partner for the release. Import listings like Hobby Genki's price it higher, at ¥71,980 (~$449).

Premico itself opened sales on August 3, 2026 — the watch is already available directly from Seiko's own retail partner. Hobby Genki's January 31, 2027 date appears to show their own import and fulfillment timeline rather than Seiko's actual launch. One note for anyone searching around: a separate brand, Angel Clover, released its own Initial D 30th-anniversary FD3S watch this year too. It's a solar-powered piece with different specs and packaging. The two are easy to confuse online, but Seiko's carries the RedSuns branding and case-back serialization described here.
