The new Pebble app has been listed at the Google Play Store. The app is designed for the upcoming Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2 smartwatches. It is worth noting that, in the About this app section, the two unreleased devices are referred to as Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2. Other supported devices will include the older Pebble Time, Pebble Time Steel, Pebble Time Round and Pebble 2.
Pebble’s latest app will offer a range of features to Pebble and Core device users. You will be able to customize watch settings, select a new watch face and install apps on your smartwatch. It will also enable users to sync health data for compatible models, install firmware updates, and report bugs. Screenshots included in the app listing reveal a range of faces; there are designs such as Tintin & Snowy, a VW bus and a PalmPilot-inspired layout. Supported apps appear to include Pebble’s Timer and Calendar. The page also confirms that users will be able to receive notifications from apps like Slack, Strava, Google Calendar, ChatGPT and eufy Clean.
The company notes that this new app is built on the libpebble3 open source project. In a recent post on X.com, Pebble and Core Devices founder Eric Migicovsky noted that both this Android app, as well as a version for iOS, would be published before the watch is sent to customers. The first 2,000 - 4,000 units of the Core 2 Duo are said to be shipping in late July or early August, with a second batch shipping by the end of August to the remaining customers.
You can currently purchase the Core 2 Duo White for $149, shipping in August; the black variant is currently out of stock. The Core Time 2 is more expensive at $225 and is not expected to ship until January 2026.
