Garmin offers new update for latest high-end smartwatches with custom focus mode and timer improvements

Garmin is well underway with its latest software development cycle for the Enduro 3, Fenix E, Fenix 8 and Tactix 8 (curr. $1,299 on Amazon). To recap, the company only kicked off v17.xx beta development a fortnight ago which it started with Beta Version 17.11.

Nonetheless, it has now moved on to its fourth update with the release of Beta Version 17.14. While recent updates have been packed full of changes, Garmin has taken a different approach this time around. In that sense, Beta Version 17.14 is more of an interim build; there is no indication that Garmin is finishing up v17.xx development just yet.

In a forum post, the company clarifies that Beta Version 17.14 introduces three notable bug fixes over Beta Version 17.13. For one, the custom Focus Modes colour select page should now work as expected. On top of that, Garmin claims to have addressed an issue that caused the Timer Page from closing when starting a timer. Finally, Beta Version 17.14 resolves a bug that impacted decimal precision for Barometer watch face complications.
