The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has been officially showcased at the latest Unpacked event. This model features a different design from the standard smartwatch, and one of the major changes is the rotational bezel. It can act like an input, allowing users, for example, to navigate through the UI without needing to use the touchscreen.
Besides the rotating bezel, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic features an extra button, which Samsung calls the Quick Button. It's also an additional input, and it can help users to quickly access features or launch apps. These aren't the only changes that differentiate the smartwatch from the standard model, though.
While the standard Galaxy Watch8 features 32 GB of storage, the Classic bumps it up to 64 GB. However, the 2 GB of RAM and the Exynos W1000 SoC remain the same. As for the screen, the smartwatch is available in only one size: 46 mm, and it features a 1.3-inch display with a peak brightness rating of 3,000 nits and 327 ppi pixel density.
Like the base model, the Watch8 Classic has received a new health tracking feature: antioxidant index measurement. As Samsung notes, the smartwatch can measure carotenoid levels, which can eventually help users to check how healthy their current diet and lifestyle are.
Among the other notable features of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic are a larger 445 mAh battery than the standard model, IP68 and 5 ATM dust and water resistant ratings, and support for Google Gemini. The smartwatch is available in Black and White color options, and it costs €529 in the EU, while the version with LTE goes for €579.
