A major British educational publishing company is making its debut into the AI-enabled wearable market. Powered by the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7, Pearson's Revibe uses personalized "reminder vibrations" to keep students focused while eliminating distractions such as messaging apps, the browser and even the calculator.
However, this pared-down smartwatch costs nearly double of a standard Galaxy Watch 7 (curr. $214.28 on Amazon) and even has a subscription model. $449 might seem excessive for a gadget that is functionally closer to a pager than a computer, but a closer look at Revibe's backstory reveals that the target users are school-aged kids who are actively struggling with some form of neurodivergence. While the product disclaimers explicitly state that Revibe is not in fact built for clinical application, Pearson states that the device helps "families, educators and clinicians" provide support to users trying to build self-regulation skills.
Like many other wearables, Revibe has its own companion app that syncs with the watch when connected via WiFi. Besides basic housekeeping features like integrating schedules and reminder setup, the app provides a report of data gathered from behavioural and biometric cues, which may include personalised suggestions on how to improve focus.
Pearson's Revibe smartwatch + app package is available now on the website for a price of $449 or a two-year subscription of $399 per year. Alternatively, you could just grab a Galaxy Watch 7 for 14% off on Amazon.
