Deal | Amazon's Galaxy Z Flip 6 (512GB version) Prime Day deal decimates the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE even with its launch perks

Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung also launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE which is a more affordable version of the Flip 7. Interestingly, the Galaxy Flip 7 FE shares several of its features with the Galaxy Z Flip 6, but even with the few new additions and the launch perks, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is still the better choice, especially now that it is on sale for Amazon's Prime Day.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is available to preorder on Amazon for $899.99. For that price, buyers get a free storage upgrade (256GB instead of 128GB) and a $100 Amazon Gift Card. However, for Prime Day, the e-commerce giant has last year's Galaxy Z Flip 6 with 512GB of storage for the same $899.99 price (26% off its original price of $1219.99). If you don't want that much storage, the 256GB version is also 27% off and available to buy for $799.99.

It is not just the fact that you are getting much more storage for the same price (or the same storage for less if you opt for the 256GB version), but the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is actually the better of the two phones.

The Flip 6 has 12GB of RAM unlike the Flip 7 FE which has 8GB of RAM across the board. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 also offers superior performance than the Exynos 2400 that powers the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. You also get more attractive colors — Blue, Mint, and Silver — when you purchase the Galaxy Z Flip 6 whereas the Flip 7 FE is only available in Black and White.

It is important to mention that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE does have a much brighter display, and because it is newer, it comes with the latest version of Android (One UI 8 based on Android 16) whereas the Galaxy Z Flip 6 launched with Android 14. The Flip 7 FE also has Bluetooth 5.4 while the Flip 6 has Bluetooth 5.3.

Save for these differences, the rest of the specs of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE are identical. You get the same display sizes and resolutions, the same cameras, same battery capacity, and identical fast charging speeds.
