Garmin is rolling out beta version 10.16 for some Instinct 3 smartwatches. It arrives around a week after the last release, beta version 10.15. This brought new Rep Alerts for the Jump Rope activity for the Solar and AMOLED versions of the wearable, alongside a wide range of bug fixes.
The beta version 10.16 update, the second in the 10.xx testing cycle, provides a bug fix for the Instinct 3 AMOLED smartwatch. It is said to resolve an issue with the post-activity summary charts, though further details about this bug are not provided.
According to a recent forum post, some Instinct 3 users have experienced problems with the smartwatch crashing when checking the Solar or Hydration widgets, or when viewing their Morning Report. Garmin has yet to acknowledge this bug, so it is unclear when affected users can expect a resolution.
Garmin notes that the beta version 10.16 update is being pushed to users over-the-air (OTA). This should mean that eligible users receive the release via the Garmin Connect Mobile app when connected to their phone via Bluetooth or through Garmin Express. It is unclear when a public version of software version 10.xx will be available for users of all Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar, and Instinct E (curr. $249.99 at Amazon) smartwatches.
