The OmniBook X Flip 16 is not even a year old yet. Announced in March, the OmniBook X Flip 16 launched alongside a whole host of other OmniBook laptops including 14-inch and 17.3-inch variants. Nonetheless, an early Walmart listing indicates that HP is on the verge of replacing the Intel Lunar Lake-based models that it currently sells (curr. $929.99 on Amazon).
According to Walmart, HP will be replacing the likes of the Core Ultra 7 266V and Core Ultra 7 268V with some of Intel's lowest-end Panther Lake options. Specifically the retailer references the Core Ultra 7 355, which it claims delivers a 4.7 GHz peak clock speed. Aligning with other recent leaks, the Core Ultra 7 355 is expected to feature 4 P and 4 LP-E CPU cores with a 55 W TDP at its disposal.
Moreover, the Core Ultra 7 355 is rumoured to contain a 4-core Xe3 iGPU to power a 2K and 16-inch display. Seemingly, this is a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel and 60 Hz panel, which would match the entry-level option on the current OmniBook X Flip 16. Walmart prices HP's Panther Lake-based convertible at $999 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Presumably, HP will unveil the new OmniBook X Flip 16 next month during CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
