New Garmin smartwatch update improves course planner

Garmin has announced the new software version 16.37 update for five of its smartwatches: the Venu 4, the Venu X1, the vivoactive 6, the Forerunner 570 and the Forerunner 970 smartwatches. It arrives shortly after the beta version of this update, with an identical change log.
According to a recent post in the Garmin forum, software version 16.37 brings performance improvements for the Forerunner smartwatches’ course planner tool. The release notes also state that the company has updated the translations for these wearables, though it has not listed the languages which benefit.
These Garmin Forerunner, Venu and vivoactive smartwatches also get three bug fixes in this new stable update. Two of these tackle possible crashes, which could occur when the watches are connected to headphones or during a HIIT activity. The last fix is linked to the goal alert feature; a problem where users were only shown a single goal alert daily has been resolved.
Garmin’s software version 16.37 update is now available for all users of the Venu 4, Venu X1, vivoactive 6, Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 (curr. from $714.99 at Amazon) smartwatches. It should be pushed to your device automatically when it next syncs to the Garmin Connect App or Garmin Express. Alternatively, you can manually download the update by going to the Menu > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
