A new Casio G-Shock model, the GBX-H5600, has been spotted in China. This unannounced watch recently surfaced in the database of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (CMIIT), with approval certificate number 2025-22145.
The filing reveals few details about the new Casio G-Shock GBX-H5600 watch, only indicating that it will offer Bluetooth connectivity. However, the model number gives us an idea as to what other features we could expect. The GBX prefix suggests that this is a G-Lide series model, designed for users who enjoy watersports like surfing. Features of these watches typically include 200 m water resistance, tide graphs, sunrise and sunset times and moon data.
The “H” in the GBX-H5600 model number points to a heart rate sensor, as seen in older models like the DW-H5600 (curr. $299 at Amazon). This allows users to track their heart rate between 30 and 220 bpm, and other metrics like blood oxygen level and sleep quality. Plus, these fitness watches typically allow users to log a range of activities, with a cardio load status, pace, stride and calorie burn estimates. On top of this, they are compatible with Strava. The number 5600 is also significant, indicating that the design is based on the original G-Shock, released in 1983.
It is unclear when Casio will release the G-Shock GBX-H5600 and how much it will cost. Fans are also waiting for an image of this upcoming model to be shared. As such, it remains unclear what materials this new watch will be made from and how many colorways will be available at launch.
