Casio’s Pro Trek PRW-B1000-1 has just appeared on the Casio US website, priced at $640. At the same time, the same model is readily available on Amazon for $521.99, which creates a notable price difference between the two official channels. The model was also listed on Casio's international website earlier this October, alongside the PRW-B1000-5.
The Casio Pro Trek series has made a strong reputation for itself, thanks to its combination of advanced sensor tech and solid construction. Pro Trek watches come with features like altimeter, barometer, compass, and solar charging. All this makes them reliable companions for trekkers, climbers, and explorers. Their ability to deliver critical information at a glance are key reasons why the series is respected as genuine outdoor gear.
Now, coming to the PRW-B1000-1, it includes a range of features such as Multi-Band 6 atomic timekeeping, solar-powered battery (Tough Solar), the aforementioned sensors (barometer, compass, thermometer), alarms, world time, and LED backlight. The watch is equipped with a stainless steel bezel and a flame-resistant Cordura band, carrying a water resistance rating of up to 100 meters. The design references the vertical rock formation of Yosemite’s El Capitan.
On Amazon, the PRW-B1000-1 is listed for approximately $120 less than Casio’s US price, and includes standard delivery within the United States. The product descriptions on both platforms are consistent regarding features and specifications, and the Amazon seller has good ratings apart from a couple of anomalies. All-in-all, if you're planning to snag the PRW-B1000-1 in the US, you might be better off shopping for this one on Amazon.
