Casio is now expanding the availability of its Pro Trek PRW-B1000 series, which now features models with Bluetooth support, radio-controlled time sync, and the brand’s signature Triple Sensor tech. The PRWB1000-1 and new PRWB1000-5, previously sold in limited quantities through select Amazon listings, are expected to see a broader release in the coming months, since the new models are already listed on the Casio International website.
The PRWB1000-1 has a dark gray stainless-steel bezel, black face with silver accents, and a Cordura (or possibly reinforced rubber) strap. The new PRWB1000-5 sports a black metal dial with bronze accents, golden hands, and comes with a brown strap. Both are quite durable, which is evident by features such as a sapphire crystal, flame-resistant bands, and water resistance up to 100 meters.
Key technical features include Bluetooth connectivity for app-based syncing and configuration, Multi-Band 6 radio control for precise atomic clock timekeeping, and support for 55 world time zones. Casio’s Triple Sensor suite adds a barometer, compass, and thermometer, with data viewable on inset digital and analog displays. Other practical functions include Tough Solar charging, power-saving modes, and Super Illuminator backlighting for low light situations.
Right now, the PRWB1000-1 is retailing at $535 on Amazon, which makes it one of the more premium Pro Trek options - outpricing earlier Bluetooth-less models like the PRW6900YB-3 (curr. $479 on Amazon). Both the -1 and -5 variants are now confirmed for a wider launch in October, though exact dates and the inclusion of European markets is still unconfirmed.
