A new and unusual 2-in-1 is available to back on Kickstarter with recent Intel processors. While the likes of the Surface Pro series adopt a detachable keyboard form factor, the NPadF combines the screen and keyboard deck onto what is described as a 'wallet-style A-shell'.
In other words, the NPadF sits somewhere between the Surface Laptop Studio 2 and One-Netbook 5 (curr. $1,199.99 on Amazon) with a design that allows it to be used in various postures. According to the company of the same name, the NPadF utilises a 10.95-inch IPS display that outputs at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels with a 60 Hz refresh rate, a 16:10 aspect ratio and 10-point multi-touch support. NPadF mentions that the device offers pen input too, although it has shared pressure sensitivity figures.
The 2-in-1 finds itself with either a Processor N100 or Core i3-1215U, whose performance numbers differ drastically in our benchmarks. Additionally, NPadF installs up to a 34.5 Wh battery that contributes to a 978 g weight excluding its charger. Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity is onboard, as are a pair of 2 W speakers.
The NPadF currently starts at $499 with a Processor N100, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. By contrast, the Core i3-1215U version costs $150 extra but gains twice as much RAM and storage to boot. At the time of publication, NPadF hopes to begin shipping its eponymous 2-in-1 in April 2025.
