Mobvoi is an OEM perhaps best known for its TicWatch line of wearables. However, it has branched out into other device classes as of late. The latest example of this diversification is the Home Treadmill, a new piece of remote gym equipment rated for a compact footprint and flat storage. It joins other products such as the Amazfit AirRun in this market.

Smart (or connected) fitness equipment is an emerging option for those who may be well and truly frustrated at not being able to get to the gym by now. To this end, many device manufacturers such as Amazfit now offer home treadmills to enable the user to get some running in without leaving the house, or adding a static-walking function to their standing desks should the device support this function.

Mobvoi is the latest OEM to get into this game, despite being mostly known as a wearables brand. Its new  Home Treadmill has maximal dimensions of 1235 x 685 x 1065 mm (49 x 27 x 42 inches), or less when folded away for storage. It has a frontal handrail with touch controls and an LED screen that displays information such as running times and progress.

With its diamond-textured surface and safety key to clip to clothing while running, Mobvoi asserts that it allows for "safe" workouts at home. It can run at up to 12 kilometers per hour (km/h) in this mode, or 4km/h when switched to walking mode. This necessitates that the handrail is folded down, which may support its pairing to a desk if preferred.

The Mobvoi Home Treadmill is available from the OEM's website at present. It comes in black or silver colorways for a price of US$449.99.
