The Huami Amazfit Band 5 has been listed for pre-order on Amazon for some time now; however, the smart band has now also appeared on Amazfit’s US store, where it can be purchased for US$49.99 via PayPal, Google Pay, or Shop Pay. Amazfit states an estimated delivery date of October 1 for the wearable. The Amazfit Band 5 comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED screen that is powered by a battery that can manage 15 days of regular usage on a single charge.
The Amazfit Band 5 comes with typical features found on a modern health/fitness-centric smart bracelet, such as water resistance (5 ATM), sports modes (11 available), smartphone synchronization, and 24/7 heart-rate monitoring. There’s also sleep quality tracking and women’s health monitoring onboard. The Huami Amazfit Band 5 also features the company’s PAI health assessment system to aid the wearer in regard to exercise requirements and overall personal condition.
However, two of the main selling points for the Amazfit Band 5 will be the presence of Amazon Alexa and the blood-oxygen saturation measurement capability. With the former, owners can utilize the virtual assistant in a typical fashion, so for quick answers to questions, weather checks, alarms, etc. With the latter (powered by OxygenBeats software), Amazfit Band 5 users can keep an eye on their general physical state. You can even personalize the smart band thanks to a choice of over 45 watch faces that are available for download.
