Minisforum has recently launched the EliteMini AI370, which is the company's first mini PC with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Now, the company has introduced a better version of it, the AI X1 Pro. It packs the same Zen 5 AMD APU, which brings the Radeon 890M iGPU, making the system capable of running modern AAA games at respectable frame rates.
However, unlike the EliteMini AI370, the Minisforum AI X1 Pro sports an OCuLink port. This makes the new mini PC a better pick for those who are interested in building an eGPU setup with it. Another big highlight of Minisforum's latest offering is the memory.
While the EliteMini AI370 had soldered LPDDR5X RAM, the AI X1 Pro offers user-upgradeable memory. The new gaming mini PC has support for up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. Its storage department has also seen an improvement, coming with three M.2 2280 slots instead of the two found in the EliteMini AI370 (2 TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD curr. $178 on Amazon).
As for the other highlights, the Minisforum AI X1 Pro sports a fingerprint reader, which aims to offer quick and secure access. It also sports a Copilot button on the front, something that a lot of the upcoming mini PCs compatible with the Copilot+ PC program are expected to feature.
Besides the high-speed OCuLink port, this gaming mini PC has two USB4 ports, which further expands its compatibility with eGPUs. It also comes with a sleek design and a built-in power supply. There's no word on price and availability yet, but you can secure a $50 discount coupon for the Minisforum AI X1 Pro by subscribing to its launch newsletter on the official website.
