Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro: Xiaomi's latest smart humidifier doubles as an air purifier

In addition to a wide range of smartphones, Xiaomi has well and truly established itself as a provider of smart home technology. One such example is the Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro, a new 2-in-1 device that combines air purification with humidification in a single unit. Designed for larger rooms, the humidifier delivers up to 2,000mL of moisture per hour, which Xiaomi says is enough to raise the humidity of a "standard bedroom" in about seven minutes or a "living room" in roughly 19 minutes. Xiaomi, however, does not give any concrete dimensions for a "standard bedroom" or "living room." 

The appliance features an 8-liter water tank capable of operating for up to 16 hours in sleep mode. Xiaomi has also introduced a one-way water circulation system that is said to prevent used water from returning to the tank, helping reduce bacterial growth and discoloration. Additional hygiene features include electrolyzed water sterilization, a washable antibacterial filter and a self-cleaning mode. Air purification is handled by a six-layer filter, with support for removing dust, PM1 and PM2.5 particles, allergens and formaldehyde, while purification and humidification can be used independently.

A dome-shaped LCD display provides live readings for humidity, temperature, dust levels and air quality. Users can adjust settings through the Mijia app or XiaoAI voice assistant, including target humidity levels and filter monitoring. The device is currently crowdfunding on Xiaomi Youpin in China at a price of 1,699 yuan (approx. $251). There currently is no indication that the Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro will get a global launch. A comparable alternative is the Airthereal 2-in-1 Air Purifier & Humidifier Combo.
