2K video: New Xiaomi smart camera listed globally

The Xiaomi Smart Camera C401 has been added to the company’s global website as the successor to the Xiaomi Smart Camera C400. Comparable models like the Xiaomi Smart Camera C500 can be found on the Amazon. Rather than introducing major technical changes, the new model represents a refinement of its predecessor. The camera supports 360° horizontal rotation and a 101° vertical tilt, enabling full-room coverage without manual adjustment.
It can automatically detect and track human movement and send notifications to a connected smartphone. In addition, it is capable of detecting crying and other loud noises, such as glass breaking. As expected, the device features a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication. Footage can be stored in the cloud, on a microSD card, or via network-attached storage (NAS). Video is recorded at a maximum resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, and the camera supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), though it still requires a wired power connection. Pricing and availability for the US market have not yet been announced.
