With Wi-Fi: 10.1-inch IPS display with ESP32-P4 for smart home interfaces

With the CrowPanel Advances 10.1-inch, Elecrow offers a display with an integrated development board. The model features a 10.1-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. That results in a modest pixel density by modern tablet standards, but it should still be sufficient for user interfaces. Since it is a touchscreen, the CrowPanel Advanced is suitable both for smart home dashboards and for direct interaction. The specified typical brightness is 400 cd/m².
As with smart displays with an integrated development boards, the CrowPanel Advanced 10.1-inch is not a plug-and-play end-user product, so some development effort is required. However, building interfaces does not have to start from scratch, as LVGL is supported. Programming is also possible via the Arduino IDE, among other platforms.
The ESP32-P4 serves as the SoC. Wireless connectivity is handled via Wi-Fi, while Bluetooth 5.3 and BLE are also supported. With additional modules, a LoRa connection can also be established, allowing small data packets such as sensor readings to be transmitted over long distances without a cellular connection. External sensors and actuators can be connected, an optional camera is available, and storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot. Elecrow lists the 10.1-inch version for $53.90, while similar products are also available on Amazon.
