It brings together some of the best hardware around, including the RTX 5080 and Core Ultra 9 chip, with generous RAM and storage. But what really sells it is the screen and sound. The mini-LED panel is gorgeous, and everything is so smooth and silky on that 300Hz refresh rate. With some of the loudest sound production I've heard on a laptop, this can happily replace many desktop gaming machines. It's also well-priced right now. Currently selling for around £2,500 in the UK (roughly $3,350), the Beast 16 X1 undercuts similarly spec'ed rivals. For comparison, MSI's Vector 16 with the same RTX 5080 and Core Ultra 9 processor costs about £100 more and lacks the 300Hz Mini LED display, while weighing nearly a kilogram more.

This laptop’s RTX 5080 GPU is an excellent performer, with frame rates that aren’t very far short of the far more expensive RTX 5090. Unless you plan on hooking up a 4K monitor, you’ll be gaming at high fps for years to come with one of these on your desk. Medion machines have come a long way under Lenovo’s stewardship. This one may not have the slimmest or most stylish chassis, a truly gamer-grade keyboard or the best screen, but I’m struggling to see any one area where it truly lets the side down. Medion: Medion AG is a German consumer electronics company. It operates in Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region. The main products are computers, TVs, refrigerators, toasters, and fitness equipment. The manufacturer of laptops Medion mainly is active in the German market, but to smaller extent also in Western Europe. Market shares and amount of reviews are low. Above all, supermarkets like Aldi sell their laptops. In 2011, Medion has been acquired by the laptop manufacturer Lenovo.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Mobile: High-End laptop graphics card based on the TU104 chip. At the time of the launch in early 2020, the 2080 Super is the fastest laptop graphics card on the market, but only slightly faster than the old GeForce RTX 2080.
These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.
NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU: High-end laptop graphics card based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. Offers 16 GB GDDR6 VRAM with a 256 Bit memory bus and can be configured with 80 - 150 TDP settings (+ Dynamic Boost).
NVIDIA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU: High-end graphics card for laptops based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. Offers 8 GB GDDR6 (128 Bit) and is configurable with a TGP of 35 - 115W (+ Dynamic Boost).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop: A fast graphics card from the Blackwell family for laptops that is based on the GB203 chip and uses 8,192 shaders and 16 GB GDDR7 graphics memory (256-bit graphics bus).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop: The GeForce RTX 5090 Mobile uses the GB203 chip and utilizes 10,496 shaders / CUDA cores of the maximum 10,752 that the chip has. This makes the RTX 5090 Laptop more similar to the RTX 5080 desktop variant (same chip) than the Desktop RTX 5090 with 20,760 cores and higher clock rates.

Intel Comet Lake:
i9-10980HK: On Comet Lake architecture based processor for big and heavy laptops. Integrates eight processor cores clocked at 3.1 - 5 GHz that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++). At the time of announcement, the i9-10980HK is the fastest Comet Lake-H CPU and fastest laptop CPU on the market. Thanks to the free multiplicator, the CPU can also be easily overclocked (but may not have much headroom).
Intel Raptor Lake-HX:
i9-14900HX: High-end mobile hybrid processor based on the Raptor Lake architecture with 24 cores and 32 threads. Clocks at a maximum of 5.8 GHz (P cores).
Intel Arrow Lake:
Ultra 9 275HX: Mobile high-end CPU for gaming notebooks based on the Arrow Lake architecture. Offers 24 cores consisting of 8 fast performance cores with up to 5.4 GHz and 16 smaller efficiency cores with up to 4.6 GHz clock speed. The CPU can access 40 MB L2 cache and 36 MB L3 cache and is specified with a TDP of 55 watts. The SoC integrates a small dedicated NPU called AI Boost with 13 TOPS (Int8) and optionally supports vPro Essentials.

This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.
17.00: This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).
