Even though RTX 5090 laptops are already on the market and have received a few discounts, notebook buyers who are looking to spend around $2,200 on a quick 16-inch workstation with a lot of GPU power might still want to take a closer look at the RTX 4090-equipped Lenovo ThinkPad P1.
More specifically, Lenovo has introduced a massive 45% or $1,800 discount for the ThinkPad P1 Gen 6 with an Intel Core i9-13900H and the aforementioned Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 with 16GB GDDR6 VRAM. This results in a sales price of $2,199 at the brand's official online store. Additionally, this machine comes with 64GB DDR5 memory, a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD and an IPS display with 2560 x 1600 pixels, 165Hz, 500 nits and full sRGB color space coverage.
As usual, our two comprehensive reviews of the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 are a must-read for anyone who seriously considers buying this powerful laptop. As a replacement for the ThinkPad X1 Extreme, we very much enjoyed the high performance of our Core i9-powered test unit, but we also praised the QHD display, the sturdy chassis and long battery life.
However, it should be mentioned that the Lenovo laptop isn't necessarily designed for gamers, as full-fledged gaming laptops with an RTX 4090 will probably outperform the ThinkPad P1 thanks to a much higher TGP. Still, Lenovo fans who would like to get one of the fastest previous-gen laptops in the entire ThinkPad lineup might want to check out if this deal could be a good fit for their particular use case.
