Samsung is expanding its lineup of audio products with two new speakers, led by the Sound Tower ST50F. The more expensive model has an output of 240 watts, and with two 165mm woofers and two 25mm dual-dome tweeters, the Sound Tower supposedly delivers room-filling, spatial sound with clear highs and lots of bass.
The larger Samsung Sound Tower ST50F has wheels, while the ST40F has a built-in carrying handle. The less expensive model has 160 watts of power, 133mm woofers and 20mm tweeters. Samsung offers different sound modes to optimize the sound for outdoor use or in large rooms, for example. Multiple Sound Towers can be combined into a single sound system via Bluetooth Auracast Group Play.
The ST50F's battery lasts up to 18 hours, while the ST40F has enough juice for 12 hours. The battery can be replaced by the user to extend the speakers' lifespan. Meanwhile, the IPX4 rating protects the Sound Towers from rain. Samsung has further opted for an eye-catching RGB lighting with a "track light" around the two woofers and two thinner LED rings around the tweeters. Users can also connect microphones for karaoke sessions or use the Sound Tower as an amplifier for a guitar.
Price and availability
The Samsung Sound Tower ST50F and the less powerful Sound Tower ST40F are expected to launch in Europe towards the end of 2025. Samsung has not yet confirmed pricing details. For context, the older Samsung Sound Tower ST50B currently retails for roughly $200 on Amazon.
