A new limited edition Casio G-Shock GA-2100 watch has been announced for the Japanese market. This is the latest model designed in collaboration with Ron Herman, a Californian lifestyle brand. Historically, the releases from these two brands have been surfing-related watches.
The GA-2100 is a shock resistant model with a carbon core guard structure, offering 20 ATM water resistance. It is a Casioak watch with an octagonal bezel, and a gray resin and carbon fiber casing. The Ron Herman logo is engraved on the stainless steel case back and can be found again on the black watch face. There are also white accents and neobrite elements on the face and a matching gray resin band.
Casio’s GA-2100 is a hybrid watch with an analog dial and a small inset digital display; the latter has a dark background and light figures. A dial on the left-hand side indicates the day of the week, and users can select from world time zones linked to 48 cities. Other features include a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer with a 24-hour range and support for five daily alarms. The white LED backlight helps you to read the watch at night, and a hand shift tool ensures that the digital display is always readable. Plus, the battery is said to allow the watch to run for around three years.
The Casio G-Shock x Ron Herman watch will be launched in Japan on May 10th for ¥23,100 (~$162), with shipping scheduled to begin on May 20th. While it is described as a limited model, there is no indication as to how many units will be available. Historically, these collaboration watches have only been available in Japan. However, a banner at the bottom of the product page advertises the Worldshopping International Shipping service, meaning it can be imported to other countries. It is worth noting that these purchases would be subject to import charges in your country.
