Casio confirms new AQ-S820 solar watch features and pricing

The new Casio AQ-S820 series watches are official. These two wearables were shown in leaked images a few days ago. Now, the AQ-S820-1AV (black) and AQ-S820W-3BV (black/khaki) have appeared at the Casio UK store.

These product listings confirm that the AQ-S820 watches will launch in this market for £54.90 (~$73). Unfortunately, the company has not indicated an exact release date, purely marking them as “Coming Soon”. Potential customers are invited to sign up for email notifications surrounding the launch. It is unclear why the third model, the AQ-S820-5A in a black and tan colorway, is not currently listed.

Casio has confirmed that these watches measure 52.5 x  50.1 x 12.7 mm (~2.1 x 2.0 x 0.5 inches) and weigh 46 g (~1.6 oz). They are described as durable, with a rugged resin case and accompanying resin strap. Plus, they are water resistant to 100 m, and you can select from a range of languages, presumably for the day of the week. Users can also choose to display the time in 12 or 24-hour formats, with a range of world time zones on offer. 

Tools include a countdown timer with a longer range of 100 hours, a 1/100-second stopwatch and five daily alarms. On top of this, there is a battery level indicator, Tough Solar charging to prolong battery life, and an LED light that helps you read the watch in low lighting. Whether or when the model could launch in other markets like the US is unclear.
