Two new Casio Pro Trek watches appear to be on the way. These are the Pro Trek PRW-35LD-5 and the Pro Trek PRW-35TLD-7. Japanese media outlet Mynavi News has shared images of these new Pro Trek watches taken at a recent product launch event. The models have also appeared at marketplaces like Chrono24.
As the “LD” in the model names indicates, the PRW-35LD-5 and PRW-35TLD-7 are Lume Dial watches, a first for Pro Trek products. This means that alongside the LED backlight, these wearables have a phosphorescent panel that glows after they have been exposed to light, providing a longer illumination time. For example, if you shine a 200-lumen light on the watch for around a minute, the watch face should glow for around one hour.
Other features are said to include pressure and temperature sensors, as well as a digital compass. Plus, these are radio-controlled watches with MultiBand 6 and Tough Solar charging to extend their battery life. The PRW-35LD-5 has a black ion-plated stainless steel bezel with a brown resin strap. Meanwhile, the PRW-35TLD-7 is made with more premium materials; it has a stainless steel bezel and titanium bracelet, both with titanium carbide to protect against scratches, and sapphire crystal glass covering the display. The Pro Trek Lume Dial watches measure 51.2 x 44.6 x 13 mm (~2.0 x 1.8 x 0.5 inches).
The Casio Pro Trek PRW-35LD-5 and PRW-35TLD-7 will launch in Japan at some point in May 2025. The PRW-35LD-5 will cost ¥48,400 (~$337), while the Pro Trek PRW-35TLD-7 will be more expensive at ¥88,000 (~$613). It is unclear whether or when these watches could launch in other markets like the US.
