Roadlite:ON CF: Lightweight e-bike with belt drive
Minimalist, lightweight, and easy to carry: Canyon’s latest e-bike is built for effortless city commuting with its silent belt drive. To achieve this ultra-clean look, however, riders will have to do without suspension, gear shifting, or pre-installed fenders.

Canyon’s new Roadlite:ON CF is a lightweight e-bike designed for urban riders seeking a minimalist, performance-oriented aesthetic. Priced at €2,999, the model comes in two colors and features a classic diamond frame with a sloped top tube for a sportier look. To maintain its clean lines, Canyon opted for a discreet Bosch hub motor powered by a 360 Wh PowerTube battery. This compact setup allows for a traditional frame geometry, avoiding the bulky tubes common in many e-bikes.

Weighing just 13.95 kg (30.75 lbs), the Roadlite:ON CF is exceptionally light for its class. While the carbon fiber frame drives this weight reduction, the bike's minimalist approach requires some trade-offs. Most notably, it features a singlespeed setup with no gear shifting. While the motor assistance partially compensates for this, it may limit versatility on steeper inclines. The bike includes a kickstand and integrated lighting but lacks factory-installed fenders or a rear rack. Adding these components will increase the overall weight. Power is delivered via a clean, lubrication-free carbon belt instead of a conventional chain. Finally, there is no suspension fork; the rigid carbon fork absorbs minor road vibrations but cannot cushion harsher impacts like riding over curbs. Canyon has not yet announced availability for the US market.
