Lenovo's Tab Plus Gen 2 tablet arrives in North America with 2.5K Dolby Vision display and JBL speakers

Lenovo has begun selling its Tab Plus Gen 2 tablet in North America after quietly launching it in Europe last month. New listings on Lenovo's website show the media-focused tablet is now available to buy in the US and Canada.

To recap, Lenovo launched the original Tab Plus in 2024 with eight JBL-tuned speakers and a 90Hz display. The Gen 2 upgrades the audio with a nine-unit JBL speaker system and a larger 43cc speaker box (up from 22cc). It also supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio and doubles as a dedicated Bluetooth speaker for your phone.

The display gets a notable upgrade too. The screen is larger at 12.1 inches (up from 11.5 inches) and now supports Dolby Vision and HDR10. It has a 2560 x 1600 resolution, a faster 120Hz refresh rate, and reaches up to 800 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM), up from 400 nits on the original. There is also a built-in kickstand at the back, allowing users to prop up the tablet in both portrait and landscape modes.

Powering the tablet is MediaTek's Dimensity 7400 chipset from 2025. Lenovo says the tablet will be offered with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, though North American buyers currently only get an 8GB/128GB configuration. That said, it ships with Android 16 and is slated to receive updates through Android 18.

Other highlights include a 13MP rear sensor and an 8MP front-facing camera. The tablet packs a 10,200mAh battery with 45W USB-C fast charging and supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. An SD card slot allows for easy storage expansion as well.

In North America, the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 is now available through Lenovo for $399.99 in the US and CA$559.99 in Canada, both with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Surprisingly, buyers in the UK get a 256GB variant.
