The Snapdragon Elite series just got a lot less attractive now that Lunar Lake can offer comparable battery life. For optimal gaming performance, however, a Zen 5 alternative is still recommended.

While the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition shines in portability, a few design choices may leave you disappointed. However, those willing to overlook the quirks will find a remarkably lightweight and slim device featuring a stunning 2K IPS touchscreen that looks fantastic and Dolby Atmos-compatible speakers that sound just as good. With solid performance for everyday computing and light creative tasks, plus dependable battery life, it stands out as a strong contender in its class.

Aptly named, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is a slick laptop designed for all-day use. Even putting aside some of its design quirks, I found it extremely comfortable to use. Especially its keyboard. My goodness, plenty of other brands could learn from that keyboard. This specific version of Yoga is suited to folks who want a laptop that handles the regular gamut of daily tasks, and have some battery to spare by the time the sun goes down. It’s good for work, play and multimedia consumption. Truly, it is a laptop brimming with aura.

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i Aura Edition brings the latest Intel and RTX 50-series power together into a sleek, premium creator laptop — paired with a truly mesmerizing tandem OLED display, the best speakers I’ve ever heard in a laptop, and the top tier touchpad and keyboard ergonomics you’d expect from Lenovo.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 9 Aura Edition is a superb Windows ultrabook with class-leading battery life, immense power, and fantastic looks. It looks excellent, too, although lacks the punch and depth of an OLED screen as found on the competition, such as the Asus Zenbook S 16 (2024), which is barely £100/$100 more in terms of retail price. With this in mind, Lenovo’s choice is still a fantastic laptop that’s worthy of your consideration. For more options, check out our list of the best ultrabooks we’ve tested.

If you want to edit images or video on the go, and prioritize compactness, light weight and long battery life over the fastest possible performance, the Lenovo Slim 7 15 Aura is a great laptop. It's fast enough to deal with heavy workloads, while still staying cool and quiet, and all the while you get to edit your content on a gorgeous screen with terrific color accuracy. Port selection is lacking, but sadly that's now par for the course with a laptop this thin. At least the two USB-C ports you do get are extremely fast, and able to max out even the very best memory cards and external SSDs you can buy. At the time of writing a Yoga Slim 7 15 Aura configured to the same spec as our review sample (product code 15ILL9) retails for around $1,400/£1,260. A 15-inch MacBook Air specced with 24GB of memory and a 1TB SSD, would cost $1,899/£1,899.

This would be a four-star review if Best Buy's $999.99 price had stuck, but even an added $300 doesn't wholly dampen our affection for the Yoga Slim 7i. The keyboard is a disappointment, but the screen, sound, overall build, and port layout go a long way to make up for that. We're not talking about an Editors' Choice award, which stays with the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo, but if you'd like a desktop replacement that's anything but bulky, you could do a lot worse.

With a competitive price, great battery life and plenty of power for most daily duties, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is a great ultraportable for anyone not willing to skimp on screen size. There’s better connectivity here than you’ll find on its close rivals, and that screen is wonderfully bright and colourful. You don’t have to be picky with software like you do on a Snapdragon-powered laptop, either. The spongey typing experience and mechanical touchpad feel a little out of step with Lenovo’s premium ambitions, though, and I’m not convinced the Aura Edition software is as mission critical as the firm makes out. It’s several hours short of the class best when away from the mains, and can’t match them for raw performance either. Then again, those longer-lasting laptops are either a lot smaller or cost considerably more – or both. If you’re on a more sensible budget, there’s plenty here to like.

If you’re after a laptop that will work all day and not get particularly warm, then the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is worth checking out. As a general-purpose business laptop, the new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i makes a very strong case for itself: The battery life is excellent, the keyboard is hard to fault, and the display is bright, smooth, colorful, and very color-accurate. The laptop itself is solid and well-made and the sound system is thoroughly on point. Taking a glass-half-full position we'd point out that the webcam is mediocre, the power button is in a less-than-optimal place, user upgrades are limited to the point of non-existence and you don't get Windows Studio Effects though we anticipate a driver update will eventually fix that problem. A little more in the way of ports wouldn't go amiss either though since the Yoga Slim 7i is still better than the MacBook Air in this respect we can't be too harsh on it.

While it’s a gimmick, the new Yoga Slim 7i definitely has an aura to it. It helped me get over my Intel grips and learn to love Lunar Lake with stellar battery life and impressive integrated graphics that apply to solid prosumer productivity and great gaming. Shout-out in particular to the connectivity — Lenovo adorning this system with all the I/O you need, while packing it with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 keeps wired and wireless connections nice and speedy. Plus, that keyboard and touchscreen combo feels great for getting stuff done. Look past the unnecessary tricks, and this is a great laptop.

I arrive at the end of this review less excited by the Yoga Slim 7i than I should be. Why? Because this is a laptop that is within touching distance of greatness and the reasons it falls short are so easily fixed. It’s irksome to see Lenovo trip over such a low hurdle. Let’s get the good points out of the way first: the battery life is brilliant, the keyboard excellent, the display bright, smooth, colourful and colour-accurate. The laptop itself is solid, well-made and not unpleasant to look at. The speaker system is very good too. But, the webcam is mediocre, the power button is in a daft place and you don’t get Windows Studio Effects.

Vantage is also is home to Lenovo's Smart Modes. There are a variety of different performance modes, but in addition to that, Vantage uses on-device AI to enable a variety of use cases. For instance, the Shield mode engages the webcam and other sensors in order to detect peeping toms that might be looking over your shoulder at the local Starbucks. Attention mode will disable notifications, turn down the volume, and even put the brakes on websites it deems can distract you for long periods of time so that you can focus on what needs to be done. Collaboration mode uses computer vision to set up camera auto-framing and video backgrounds when you're in video meetings. These settings can be turned on in the Vantage application and also be bound to hotkeys so they can be turned on and off without switching gears.

The Lenovo Slim 7i Aura Edition is trying to be the best slim and light laptop from 2024 and into 2025. But after over 30 days of day to day use, how does it stand up in terms of battery life, performance, display and other things that an ultra portable Windows laptop is supposed to do?

This Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition review was a hard one to write. Had this device come to me very early in the year, I may have had a different opinion. But so many other laptops have come across my desk, including a few from Lenovo, that are just as good or better. Don’t get me wrong, this is a nice laptop. But something like the Yoga Slim 7x is slightly better and more unique, and I was expecting more from this laptop. Perhaps I set the bar too high? I wouldn’t tell you not to buy it if it fits your needs. It’s a capable laptop, overall.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is a solid 15-inch device with a handful of unique features. The Intel Core Ultra 7 (Series 2) chip provides fast, cool, battery-efficient performance, and everyday users will appreciate the nice display, comfortable keyboard, and marathon battery life. Lastly, features like Smart Share are useful, but I would caution Intel and Lenovo alike from spending too much time on flashy tricks and instead focusing on enduring well-designed devices. The hardware here is impressive, and Intel's Series 2 "Lunar Lake" chips are absolutely worthy contenders to Qualcomm's ARM-compatible Snapdragon X Elite and Apple's M4 chips. Performance (and thoughtful, well-designed physical form factors) speak for themselves more than buzzy features ever will.

This Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is a competent premium portable laptop for daily use. It's built well and practical with general use, it comes with a beautiful IPS touchscreen and specs that balance decent multitasking performance with solid GPU capabilities for such a thin device, as well as excellent runtimes on battery. At the same time, the experience of using this computer is somewhat impacted by tiny aspects gone wrong, as explained in this review. But if you can get this on sale, it's one of the better value Lunar Lake laptops out there.

The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition from Lenovo might be one of the best Intel laptops kicking around. It pairs Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 2 processors with a beautiful 15-inch display, excellent keyboard, and battery life that lasts longer than you think. For the $1,300 price, this is a shockingly good option if your workflow still depends on Intel chips. We’re officially in the age where you don’t need an Intel chip to have a great experience with a Windows laptop. Qualcomm’s ARM-based Snapdragon X platform can deliver great performance, cool temperatures, amazing battery life, and a boatload of fancy Copilot+ AI features in great machines like the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 and Lenovo’s own Slim 7x. But these fancy new ARM processors can’t handle certain apps or third-party software like printer drivers, whereas Intel chips can run everything just fine. If you still enjoy using Intel chips and aren’t ready to make the jump to Windows on ARM, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is a solid choice.

The Yoga Slim 7 (Gen 9, 15ILL9) is one of the best Copilot+ PCs we’ve tested. It has one significant advantage over the Snapdragon-based machines and that’s the seamless compatibility with all apps and games. The battery life is very long, especially given the high-res screen. The autonomous work on a single charge is enough for 13 hours of videos. Yep, the Lunar Lake chips aren’t thirsty at all. The Intel Evo “magic” also helps in this scenario. The keyboard is suitable for long hours of typing and the touchpad is accurate – nice! The port selection is fine for a thin machine – two Thunderbolt 4s alongside a Type-A port for better compatibility with external mice, keyboards, HDDs, etc. The machine feels blazing fast for work.

So where does that leave us? The Yoga Slim 7i shows you can get good performance and battery life from a Lunar Lake laptop — especially compared to Meteor Lake laptops like the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Ultra, which is nearly a full pound heavier, with a screen that tops out at 60Hz. As a laptop, the Yoga Slim 7i is fine but not exceptional.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura edition is a Lunar Lake refresh for one of my favorite laptops. It offers a vivid display, great audio quality, a stellar typing experience, and a polished design. However, it falls short of its Snapdragon-powered sibling, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x. The addition of smart modes and smart share helps the Aura edition stand out, but they may not be deal-breakers for many people. Unfortunately, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura edition lagged in our two most important categories: overall performance and gaming. While it had solid scores in our single-core and 3DMark Wild Life benchmarks, its multi-core performance was much lower than its rivals, and my hands-on gaming experience was hit-or-miss.

The Yoga Slim 7i faces some stiff competition among the limited number of 15-inch laptops. It’s just as well-built as its competition and it looks great. It’s very portable — though not quite as thin as the MacBook Air 15 — and light enough that you won’t mind carrying it around. It’s also surprisingly affordable, more so than the other two I’ve mentioned throughout this review. That makes it very attractive. It’s not the fastest laptop, but it gets very good battery life. If you’re looking for a larger laptop with a lot to offer, the Yoga Slim 7i should be on your list.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is another solid addition in Lenovo’s generally strong line-up of mid-range and premium Windows PCs. It suffers a few flaws, like a relatively small touchpad and a mediocre display, but makes up for its shortcomings with attractive design, a great keyboard, and class-leading speakers. Intel’s new “Lunar Lake” Core Ultra 7 256V, meanwhile, delivers a respectable performance uplift over prior Intel laptops, packs a great IGP, and brings battery life into competition with Qualcomm Snapdragon X laptops. That makes the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition an excellent choice if you want a thin, portable Windows laptop that’s still versatile enough to handle productivity and entertainment with equal ease.

I recommend opting for the 32GB configuration, since the RAM is not upgradable. This raises the price, but it's absolutely worth it for future-proofing. Lastly, features like Smart Share are useful, but I would caution Intel and Lenovo alike from spending too much time on flashy tricks and instead focusing on enduring, well-designed devices.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition sure brings some interesting features to the table. The design does not stand out, but it still looks premium and elegant. The IPS touchscreen display works well in most cases, but if you are someone who wants those contrasty colours and inky deep blacks, then going with the non-touch OLED version would make more sense. The performance is on par with the rest of the Intel Lunar Lake laptops available in the market. The AI features look good but still need some polishing. On the other hand, the stiff hinge could be a turn-off for some. Moreover, the touchpad on this laptop was disappointing. That said, if you are looking for a reliable, thin and light machine that can handle most of the tasks and offer a soft-key keyboard with great audio, then you can surely consider this one.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition gets a lot of things right. It’s light, premium, powerful, and packs in smart features without going overboard on price. The 15.3-inch display is beautiful, the keyboard is great for typing, and the battery life is actually dependable. Yes, there are some areas where it could be better — the lack of an OLED display, a slightly average trackpad, and features like Smart Modes not being automatic. But overall, the experience has been solid, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed using this laptop every day. At a starting price of around Rs 1,32,000 (Ultra 7 256V + 16GB RAM + 512GB storage), it’s not cheap — but when you compare it to other premium ultrabooks with similar specs, it actually offers good value. If you want a big screen, premium design, and reliable all-around performance in a machine that’s easy to carry, the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is worth considering.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 is a great-looking laptop, with a keyboard that I really like for its softer typing action. There’s a great display, too, offering vibrant and sharp images, with enough brightness to cut through reflections and to remain looking good in pretty much all conditions. Intel’s Core Ultra 7 offers great power and performance for daily tasks too, with a nice graphical bump over older integrated hardware, so you don’t feel like you can’t keep up. While the battery life perhaps isn’t as long as you might expect in this era of next-gen hardware, for most people it will see you through a typical day without having to worry about constant charging. All in all, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 represents what you want from an ultraportable: great for productivity through long days, with surprising graphical punch when you need it.

Intel Arc 140V: A pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8; it can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1. With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings.
