Reviews for the LG gram 17 2025 (17Z90TL)

84.8% New model, original design: LG Gram 17 2025 (Lunar Lake) laptop review | Notebookcheck
Every year, a new LG Gram arrives without significant changes to its design. Equipped with Lunar Lake, a large battery, and quiet dual fans, the current Gram is certainly compelling. However, it no longer distinctly stands out from the crowd, as other manufacturers now also offer a solid lineup of lightweight laptops.
90% LG Gram (17Z90TL) laptop review: Lightweight heavyweight
Source: Gadgetguy English
If you really need a 17-inch ultraportable laptop, then the LG Gram is hard to beat. You’ll struggle to find anything thinner and lighter with a display this large. Especially if all that screen real estate means you don’t need to carry around a secondary external monitor when travelling. Of course, there are trade-offs in terms of the hefty price tag and the slight performance drop compared to what this CPU/GPU combination can deliver in rival 15 to 16-inch laptops. If you want the Ultra 7 powerplant but could make do with a 15 or 16-inch display, then make sure you weigh up the 17-inch LG Gram against options like the Lenovo ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition, Dell 16 Plus, and Acer Swift 16 AI.

80% LG Gram 17 (2025) Review: A Cinema-Size Screen for Your Carry-On Bag
Source: PC Mag English
The 2025 Gram 17 continues LG's tradition of pushing the boundaries of what a large-screen laptop can be, delivering a rare blend of size and portability. Its supremely lightweight yet durable design remains a defining characteristic, making it astonishingly easy to carry for a 17-inch system. Factor in the vibrant touch-screen display, comfortable keyboard, and long-lasting battery, along with its cutting-edge Copilot+ AI PC features, and you have a machine that promises a premium, future-forward user experience. However, that extreme portability compromises performance compared with many direct competitors. This trade-off is clearer in more demanding tasks, in which other systems with similar specs pull ahead.

70% I tested this crazy portable 17-inch laptop — and it’s lighter and lasts longer than the MacBook Air
Source: Tom's Guide English
Despite its faults, the LG Gram 17 is still a great laptop for what it offers. The 17-inch display delivers a sizable canvas, and its performance and battery life make it perfect for everyday work. Lowering the price by $200-$300 would make this an easy recommendation. That said, you’ll be hard-pressed to find such a lightweight 17-inch notebook. If that’s important to you, then the LG Gram 17 won’t disappoint. However, if you’re looking for better performance, battery life and display quality, there are better options out there.

Finally, an ultraportable Windows laptop that gives my MacBook Air serious competition
Source: Zdnet.com English
LG's Gram 17 is an incredibly thin and light laptop, and the addition of the Intel Core Ultra 7 "Lunar Lake" processor completes the picture with a direct improvement in ways consumers will care about. The $1,700 price point is on the high end, but this laptop is an engineering statement. You will not find a thinner, lighter, 17-inch laptop out there. The LG Gram Pro 17 will cost around $400 more, but it offers a more powerful processor, bigger battery, and more premium build. Just for clarity, that means it is over the $2,000 mark. For most users, however, the base model Gram 17 is a solid choice for consumers who love a big display and impressive form factor.

Intel Arc 140V: A pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8; it can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1. With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Core Ultra 7 258V: An upper mid-range Lunar Lake family processor. It sports 4 new Skymont E-cores and 4 new Lion Cove P-cores running at up to 3.7 GHz and 4.8 GHz respectively, along with the new Arc 140V iGPU and 32 GB of on-package LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. It essentially matches the Core Ultra 7 165U and Core i7-1360P in multi-thread performance and it eats up to 37 W when under short-term workloads.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
