The current £200 discounts Samsung is offering on both the 14in and 16in Galaxy Book5 Pro models make them good value, and both machines have their strong points, primarily their high-quality 2.8K AMOLED touchscreen displays, good performance levels and ability to accommodate a second SSD. In the glass-half-empty column, the design is rather stale and uninspired, the webcam is subpar, the keyboard shallow, and the battery life is not on par with the competition. Given the intensity of the competition in this part of the laptop market, it’s difficult not to think that Samsung should be trying just a wee bit harder.

Priced at Rs 1,31,990, the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro is a great machine for everyday productivity and work on the go. It weighs ~1.7 kg, making it convenient to travel with. The AMOLED display is stunning to consume content on, and the 16:10 aspect ratio gives you a bit more real estate for productivity. The 120Hz refresh rate makes interacting with the touchscreen display butter smooth. The Intel Core Ultra 5 – 226V powering this laptop is powerful enough to take on the competition and outperforms Qualcomm’s offerings. If a laptop with good battery life and seamless everyday productivity is what you want, you can consider this laptop.

Technology is all about convenience. From carrying around boxy and bulky laptops from the late 2000s, we have come a long way. In 2008, Apple brought about a design revolution with the launch of its feather-light and premium MacBook Air. Ever since, technology companies have been striving to achieve that perfect balance between portability and performance. Samsung has been consistently delivering laptops that are not only highly functional but also stylish. This year, the South Korean tech giant unveiled the all-new Galaxy Book 5 Pro at CES 2025. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro is the latest addition to the brand’s lineup of premium laptops. While there is no dramatic departure from the design scheme of the predecessors, the new entrant is seemingly lighter and charming, and aces various performance benchmarks.

Intel Arc 140V: A pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8; it can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1. With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Core Ultra 7 258V: An upper mid-range Lunar Lake family processor. It sports 4 new Skymont E-cores and 4 new Lion Cove P-cores running at up to 3.7 GHz and 4.8 GHz respectively, along with the new Arc 140V iGPU and 32 GB of on-package LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. It essentially matches the Core Ultra 7 165U and Core i7-1360P in multi-thread performance and it eats up to 37 W when under short-term workloads.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
