The Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 comes close to being the best big-screen laptop we've seen this year. There's nothing much to fault about the screen, the core design or the performance, and its NPU and connectivity should keep it relevant for years to come. Yet the keyboard and general usability aren't quite at the same level, acting as a drag on the overall experience. If you can get used to the off-kilter position and shallow travel, you'll find a serious productivity machine with epic stamina. If not, you might be left wondering how Samsung got so much right, yet missed something so crucial.

We’ve seen a lot of interesting new ultrabooks released in 2024, and while the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 doesn’t traverse much in the way of new ground, it remains an excellent Windows laptop for those after a Windows-based alternative to a MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen and convertible powers. To all intents and purposes, it looks like a MacBook Pro with an aluminium frame and reasonably similar input selection, while its large 16-inch AMOLED panel comes with deep blacks, a responsive touchscreen and seriously accurate colours. In addition, its Intel Lunar Lake chip is also rather beefy, and its recorded battery life is exceptionally close to Apple’s own claims.

I really like the way the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 feels in hand. It’s so thin and reasonably light for a laptop with a spectacular 16-inch OLED display. And it’s also very well-built, and it gets great battery life. There’s a lot to like here. But when you buy such a large laptop, you tend to want more performance. The Galaxy Book5 is fast enough as long as you’re doing typical productivity tasks. But it’s not the gaming and creator’s laptop that many larger machines represent. And the keyboard is really disappointing. For those that really like the idea of a large-format laptop that is still easy to pack around, however, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 delivers just enough value to make it worthy of recommendation.

In PCWorld’s review of Intel Lunar Lake, we said Intel’s latest hardware delivers “great battery life, mediocre performance, [and] surprisingly decent gaming.” That’s exactly what you’re getting here, along with a very nice laptop body: An absolutely beautiful AMOLED display, a solid chassis with lots of metal, and a 2-in-1 experience with a touch screen plus an S Pen. I just wish the keyboard was a little more comfortable, with some more key travel and a tweaked layout. Still, for many people, this machine is exactly what the doctor ordered: A traditional Intel-powered laptop that can run x86 software with no compatibility concerns, incredibly long battery life, and even more graphics horsepower than you might expect.

Samsung's Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 sells for $1,700 on Samsung's website. I recommend this laptop to professional users who want a well-performing work laptop and who own a Galaxy smartphone so they can access the model's full range of features. Of course, non-Galaxy smartphone owners will still get a lot from this machine. The hardware, battery life, and OLED touchscreen are all top-notch. If you want an alternative, I recommend the Lenovo Yoga 7i Aura Edition. It isn't as large, but it does offer a similar experience at a cheaper price.

Just like last year, the two biggest reasons to pick up Samsung’s hybrid ultraportable are its gorgeous screen and stylus support. Switching to Lunar Lake power has also graced the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 with considerably better battery life, while also upping its AI and graphics muscle. However, it doesn’t make any effort to fix the flaws of the previous generation. There’s still nowhere to properly stow the S Pen while on the move, and the keyboard will absolutely divide opinion. Samsung’s software suite might be extensive, but a lot of it will be lost on you if you don’t own a Galaxy smartphone, and desktop performance hasn’t really improved enough to justify an upgrade from the previous generation.

Our performance and gaming testing still needs to be completed with the US version of the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360, so we’re not scoring it yet, but if you’re willing to take the chance, there is plenty to recommend this laptop outside of its performance, from the gorgeous AMOLED display to the impressive 14 hours of battery life. While we don’t expect much to change with the US model of the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 compared to the global configuration sent to Laptop Mag, many of our performance benchmarks are impacted by memory capacity and RAM speed. The general and gaming performance seems solid, but lower memory capacity can impact performance across the board, so until we get those final benchmarks in, this will remain our hands-on impressions of the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360.

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro is a great work laptop for all your professional needs. It is even an excellent pick for students working on assignments related to their studies. The laptop offers a great combination of a solid build and an impressive display, while the Intel Lunar Lake processor will not let you down in everyday tasks. However, if you're into gaming, then look elsewhere, as the Galaxy Book 5 Pro has its limitations, and gaming is its biggest Achilles' heel. It is currently retailing at as low as Rs. 126,990, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro is an excellent Windows 11 machine for those looking for Mac alternatives. It ticks all the right boxes and emerges as a laptop designed for users who are always on the go.

If you want a laptop that ticks most of the boxes while looking and feeling premium, the Galaxy Book 5 Pro is easy to recommend. It is not aiming to be a gaming rig or a pro editing machine. But what it does, it does really well. The display is brilliant, the battery life lasts all day, and the build is as good as it gets. Add the new AI tools and Samsung’s ecosystem extras, and you have got a laptop that feels modern and helpful. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro is not built for demanding creative work but for most professionals, students and general users, this is a solid Windows laptop that looks great, feels great, and works just as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro is a real treat to use, ticking all the boxes you want in a laptop: a pleasing design, plenty of performance power, battery life that'll get you through the day, a quality screen, and a keyboard and trackpad that are responsive and a pleasure to use. Add in plenty of connectivity options and decent sound, and this is clearly one of the best lightweight laptops around at the moment. Unless you're a creative professional or gamer who needs the highest levels of PC performance right now, then Galaxy Book 5 Pro will appeal if you're in the market for a new laptop. The pricing is competitive too: far from the budget end of the spectrum, but also reasonable considering what you get in return. More configuration options in terms of processor, memory and storage options can be tweaked to match how much you've got to spend, and there are two different screen sizes to pick from.

The Galaxy Book 5 Pro is a solid laptop with plenty to recommend, but there are just a few too many weaknesses for a laptop at its price point. There’s no question that the Samsung name carries some weight, and if you are deep in the Samsung ecosystem, that changes your value proposition, but for most people, there are better alternatives. This is partly due to the highs for the Book 5 Pro not being sufficient to tip back the scales against its negatives. The display is bright and vivid, but not overwhelmingly, with options like the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x beating it on both counts for much less. Twelve hours and twenty-five minutes of battery life is enough, but not near the top of the charts in 2025, where numerous laptops go to 15 hours and beyond.

The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro is a great laptop, just like the Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is. It combines great build quality with a beautiful 16-inch display and a power-sipping Intel Lunar Lake processor. Lunar Lake is still a sticking point: Some people will want more top-end CPU performance for multithreaded CPU tasks, and Lunar Lake can’t deliver that. Aside from that, the main concern is the price. This is a fairly premium laptop experience overall, but the retail price of $1,649 is still on the high side for a laptop. More importantly, the 360 model is only $50 more at $1,699 and it includes a 360-degree hinge as a well as a bundled S Pen. For an extra $50, it’s hard to argue with that value.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro exemplifies what makes the company’s laptops desirable. Though I’m not a fan of all the Samsung apps and the AI features aren’t impressive, this notebook shines thanks to its ultraportable design, strong performance and battery life and fantastic 16-inch OLED. If you're willing to spend $100 more, the MacBook Pro 14-inch M4 ($1,599) is a solid alternative to the Galaxy Book 5 Pro for those seeking faster performance and brighter display.

This 16-inch laptop can happily handle photo and video editing, as well as some light gaming. AAA games like Indiana Jones certainly aren't happy, but older or less demanding titles are handled well by the Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro. Sure, this slender laptop doesn't exactly count as ultraportable as it's 16 inches, but the portability is enhanced by that excellent battery life. The Samsung Book 5 Pro is just as good as the 360 model in that department, so you can play all day on a single charge. Although recharging isn't as great.

The current £200 discounts Samsung is offering on both the 14in and 16in Galaxy Book5 Pro models make them good value, and both machines have their strong points, primarily their high-quality 2.8K AMOLED touchscreen displays, good performance levels and ability to accommodate a second SSD. In the glass-half-empty column, the design is rather stale and uninspired, the webcam is subpar, the keyboard shallow, and the battery life is not on par with the competition. Given the intensity of the competition in this part of the laptop market, it’s difficult not to think that Samsung should be trying just a wee bit harder.

Technology is all about convenience. From carrying around boxy and bulky laptops from the late 2000s, we have come a long way. In 2008, Apple brought about a design revolution with the launch of its feather-light and premium MacBook Air. Ever since, technology companies have been striving to achieve that perfect balance between portability and performance. Samsung has been consistently delivering laptops that are not only highly functional but also stylish. This year, the South Korean tech giant unveiled the all-new Galaxy Book 5 Pro at CES 2025. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro is the latest addition to the brand’s lineup of premium laptops. While there is no dramatic departure from the design scheme of the predecessors, the new entrant is seemingly lighter and charming, and aces various performance benchmarks.

If you're after a portable-ish notebook with solid specs and some of the best battery life of 2025, the Samsung Book 5 360 ticks a lot of boxes. Samsung: Samsung Group is the largest South Korean conglomerate and was founded in 1938. Samsung Group employed 489,000 people in 2014 and is one of the world's largest companies in terms of revenue and market strength. The name Samsung means "Three Stars" in Korean and represents the three sons of the company's founder. The company was founded in 1938 as a grocery store. With its subsidiary Samsung Electronics, founded in 1969, Samsung took up the production of electrotechnical items, focusing on consumer electronics and household appliances at an early stage. Other branches in which the large corporation is active include mechanical engineering, automobiles (Hyundai), insurance, wholesale, real estate and leisure. Samsung manufactures a wide range of electronic products, including smartphones, televisions, home appliances and semiconductors. The company's Galaxy line of smartphones is one of the most popular in the world. Samsung is also a major player in the semiconductor industry, making memory chips and processors for many other electronics manufacturers.

Intel Arc 140V: A pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8; it can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1. With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings.
Intel Arc 130V: An integrated graphics adapter that lower-end Intel Lunar Lake family processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 7 iGPU; DirectX 12 Ultimate is fully supported here and the iGPU also supports hardware-decoding a long list of popular video codecs such as h.266 VVC, h.265 HEVC, h.264 AVC, AV1 and VP9. It is clear the 130V isn't fast enough to run most triple-A 2024 games at 1080p. However, it's still more than good enough for an occasional gaming session Helldivers 2 and Ready or Not run perfectly well at 1080p / Low.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
16.00:
This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.
