The LG OLED evo Gallery Edition TV 97-in model, also called the 97G2, will shortly launch globally. This device will be added to the existing 2022 OLED TV line-up, with sizes from 42-in to 88-in, released earlier this year. First unveiled at CES, all of the devices in the range feature LG’s OLED self-lit pixels and Brightness Booster Max for a 30% brighter image.
Alongside LG’s OLED evo technology, the ultra-large TV uses an α (Alpha) 9 Gen5 AI Processor bringing a 3D quality to the image, making it more lifelike. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro Algorithm is also included on the device, which provides a detailed picture by individually processing over 5,000 areas on the screen. A 7.1.2 channel sound system enhances the cinematic experience, plus the TV supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision IQ technologies. The Gallery TV can be mounted flush-to-the-wall, which LG says gives a luxurious finish.
The 97-in evo OLED TV will be showcased at IFA, alongside other large devices such as the 88-in LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K and 86-in QNED TVs and the 136-in 4K Micro LED TV. LG has said that the launch dates for the LG OLED evo Gallery Edition TV 97-in model in each market will be announced in the coming weeks. In March, rumors began to circulate that the device would cost €25,000 (~US$25,093); LG is yet to confirm the price officially.
