Although its main competitor Samsung has recently brought its innovative QD-OLED panels to the market, the South Korean tech heavyweight LG remains the leader in the lucrative OLED TV market. Since the current 2022 TV lineup hasn't been on the market for very long, the corresponding 4K HDR television models are usually quite expensive, but fortunately, Amazon has now reduced the price of the affordable and sought-after LG A2 OLED TV.
To be more precise, the e-commerce giant from Seattle currently sells the adequately sized 55-inch version of the aforementioned LG A2 OLED TV for a discounted sale price of just US$896 including free shipping for Amazon Prime members and all other customers. According to the price tracker at Camelcamelcamel, this is Amazon's lowest price to date for this television, and it has been sold for an average price of close to US$1,200 so far. Please note that the LG A2 OLED TV has a native refresh rate of 60 hertz, which means that ambitious gamers who want to play their fast-paced games at 120 frames per second should rather take a look at the more expensive LG B2, which is currently being sold for US$1,196 on Amazon.
According to a comprehensive review published by the TV experts from Rtings.com, the LG A2 is an "excellent TV for most uses" as it comes with perfect black levels and wide viewing angles. The reviewers also found that this OLED TV has fantastic reflection handling, which means that it should perform well in bright living rooms with lots of natural light. It also sports a good peak HDR brightness of up to 562 for small highlights, and there is no blooming around these bright objects. All in all, Amazon's current deal for the LG A2 is a good choice for budget-conscious buyers who would like to invest less than US$1,000 in a brand-new OLED TV from the current 2022 model year.
