Anbernic is preparing to unleash another gaming handheld, having recently introduced a new version of the Win600. This time, Anbernic has developed the RG353V, a sibling to the RG353P that the company released in June. As their names suggest, the RG353V is the vertical alternative to the RG353P, which has a portrait layout. Incidentally, the RG353V resembles the GKD Mini Plus, albeit with analog sticks at the bottom.
Like the RG353P, the RG353V has a 3.5-inch IPS display with a 640 x 480-pixel native resolution. Additionally, the latter features the same Rockchip RK3566 SoC as the former, along with 2 GB of LPDDR4x RAM. Presumably, the RG353V retains its namesake's 32 GB of storage and twin microSD card readers too. For reference, the Rockchip RK3566 possesses four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores running at 1.8 GHz and a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. In other words, the RG353V should be powerful enough to play simple retro games.
Furthermore, the RG353V has a 3,500 mAh battery and a modem that supports 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. The device should be capable of dual-booting Android and Linux. Pricing remains unknown at this stage, as does a precise release date. For context, the RG353P launched for US$129.99, so we imagine that Anbernic will price the RG353V for about as much too.
