Philips has unveiled two new TVs, 2022 models of the OLED+937 and OLED+907. The devices join the company’s Ambilight TV range, with ambient lighting to accurately match the images on the screen. The latest generation of this technology enables control on an individual LED level for more precise color matching. The OLED+937 is available in 65-in and 77-in models, and the OLED+907 will be released with 48-in, 55-in and 65-in variants.
A new feature for the TVs is Ambient Aurora, which provides a sound and lighting experience when the TV is not in use; you can choose from a range of pre-installed videos and images here. The devices also include Bowers & Wilkins speakers, with the OLED+937 having a 95 W 5.1.2 channel sound system and the OLED+907 having an 80 W 3.1 channel sound system. The TVs come with the Android TV 11 OS, meaning the most popular streaming apps are available on the devices.
The larger 55-in, 65-in and 77-in TVs use an OLED EX panel, which Philips claims delivers a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. Features for gaming on the TVs include a 4K 120 Hz variable refresh rate, G-sync and Free–sync Premium support, a game settings bar and a VRR Shadow Enhancer to optimize the experience. The TV range is expected to launch in the next few weeks, with the lower end 48OLED+907 costing €1,999 (~US$2,005) and the range-topping 77OLED+937 costing €4,999 (~US$5,013).
