Innovative smartphone with e-ink and LCD screens gets massive launch discount

We have already covered the new HiBreak Dual E-Ink in detail. It is a smartphone that combines an E Ink screen with an LCD. Depending on the version selected, the E Ink display also supports color, and stylus input is available.
The smartphone is being offered in a total of eight variants. It is available with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, with each configuration also offered in a version with or without a color E Ink display. Buyers can order either just the HiBreak Dual E-Ink itself or a bundle with a case and stylus. The stated regular retail price ranges from $519 to $689, although preorder pricing is expected to include substantial discounts. These are likely to be limited mainly by quantity rather than time. The first 20 units of the base version are expected to sell for $359, after which the price will rise to $389 and then $409. The top-end version with 12GB, 256GB, a stylus, and a protective case is priced at $479, $509, and $539.
The smartphone is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1080, which also includes a 5G modem. It runs Android 14 with access to the Play Store and supports NFC as well as location services, including navigation via GPS. An IR blaster allows control of older household devices that cannot be integrated directly into a smart home setup.
