IKEA has launched its BADRING Water leak detector smart in EU countries. The product has launched earlier than expected following its recent arrival in the IKEA Home smart app. The battery-powered smart home gadget's features include an audible alarm and app notifications.

The IKEA BADRING Water leak detector smart is now on sale in the EU. The company announced the smart home sensor in October and was expected to launch it in April. Plus, the product was recently added to the IKEA Home smart app in update version 1.25.0.

On coming into contact with water, the BADRING will emit a loud noise to alert you of the leak. Plus, you can set the device to trigger app notifications to ensure you are aware of the problem as soon as possible. It is worth noting that you need to have the DIRIGERA gateway to use this feature. The gadget is relatively compact, measuring 19 x 70 x 40 mm (~0.75 x 2.6 x 1.6-in), making it easy to store under furniture, in the cupboard under the sink or next to your washing machine. An AAA battery powers the sensor; this is not included in the product.

You can buy the IKEA BADRING Water leak detector smart in countries like the Netherlands, France and Sweden for €9.99/99SEK. It is unclear when the product will launch in more countries, such as the US or the UK. IKEA also recently released the VALLHORN Wireless motion detection and the PARASOLL Window/door sensor, also priced at €9.99.
