HyperX has announced its Cloud MIX headphones, which is primarily a wired gaming headset. However, it also doubles as a set of Bluetooth 4.2 headphones that HyperX claims will last up to 20 hours on a single charge.
The Cloud MIX features 40 mm dual chamber drivers that separate bass tones from mid and high tones to "cut distortion and provide smooth audio" more than if the sound were outputted from a single chamber. Moreover, the headset supports Hi-Res Audio over a wired connection for a 10 Hz-40 KHz frequency response that HyperX claims will allow people to "hear details and nuances", which would have otherwise been missed if listening over other headsets.
The company has also designed the headset with "soft memory foam" ear pads that should feel comfortable even towards the end of a long gaming session. The ear pads and headband are also made from leatherette for added comfort, while its aluminium frame should make the Cloud MIX durable and robust.
The Cloud MIX weighs 275 g with the boom microphone attached and comes with a 1.3 metre detachable headset cable and a 0.5 metre Micro USB charging cable among other accessories. The headset will also work with any 3.5 mm jack cable. The Cloud MIX features onboard controls too and currently retails in the UK for £179.99 (~ US$231) at Amazon, Argos or Currys. HyperX does not currently sell the headset in Canada or the US though.
