Deal | Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal wireless gaming headphones now up to 42% off on Amazon
Introduced last year, the Beoplay Portal arrived as Bang & Olufsen's first wireless gaming headphones. The most distinctive feature of this headset coming from the Scandinavian audio masters is the lack of a boom arm, whose tasks are handled by a virtual microphone array that uses four microphones and directional beamforming.
In addition to the above, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal also comes with adaptive ANC, virtual surround and Dolby Atmos for Headphones, Beosonic Tuning customizable audio via the Bang & Olufsen app, as well as easy setup for Bluetooth connection to Android devices, iPhone handsets, and iPad tablets. Obviously, Sony PlayStation and PCs are also supported. The Xbox version of the headset is a different product.
The US$499 list price is now down to US$290 for the Xbox version (42% off) and US$299 for the PC/PlayStation model (40% down). Each of them is available in three color versions, namely Navy, Black Anthracite, and Grey Mist.
The Amazon rating of the Beoplay Portal is currently at 4.1/5. This score comes after 417 reviews, of which 59% involve a perfect score, followed by 15% 4/5 ratings and 12% 3-star ones. The breakdown shows scores below 4 for gaming (3.4), battery life (3.8), and noise cancelation (3.9). However, the 4.4 for overall sound quality and 4.6 comfort rating should tip the scales.
