Huawei Band 6 receives new features and optimisations with April 2022 update
Huawei has released a new update to the Band 6, a fitness tracker that the company released just over a year ago. To recap, the Huawei Band 6 has a 1.47-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 194 x 368 pixels and a battery that should last up to 2 weeks between charges. Also, Huawei pre-loads 96 workout modes and plenty of health features like TruSleep 2.0 sleep monitoring.
According to Huawei Ailesi, Huawei has issued 11.1.3.20 to the Band 6, which should be available globally. As the screenshot below shows, 11.1.3.20 is a 9.63 MB download. Despite its size, 11.1.3.20 must be downloaded through the Huawei Health app first before transferring it to your Huawei Band 6. While this month's update is small in size, it brings two important features to the Band 6, plus three optimisations.
Specifically, Huawei has added the option of securing your Band 6 with a PIN code, inexplicably unavailable since the fitness tracker's launch. Additionally, the Band 6 can now wake when you touch its display, another feature that is commonplace for fitness trackers and smartwatches. Incidentally, Huawei claims to have optimised system stability too, as well as Bluetooth connection stability and the UI in some areas.
