Alongside the Mate Xs 2 and MatePad SE, Huawei also launched its latest fitness band, the Huawei Band 7, in China yesterday The Band 7 is an incremental update to last year's Band 6 but arrives in a slightly more compact form, while being cheaper at the top-end.

A year after launching the Huawei Band 6 in China, Huawei has now brought a direct successor to the market, in the form of the Huawei Band 7.

The Huawei Band 7 looks to be an incremental upgrade on its predecessor for the most part, with a 1.47-inch AMOLED display. Like the Band 6, the Huawei Band 7 offers 96 sports modes. Heart rate monitoring is present, of course, courtesy of Huawei's TruSeen 4.0 technology.

Physical dimensions are similar to the Band 6, too, at 44.35 x 26 x 9.99 mm versus the older band's 43 x 25.4 x 10.99 mm. It is lighter, however, weighing in at 16 g sans strap, compared to the Band 6's 18 g. Up to two weeks of battery life is promised on a full charge, with a five-minute charge said to offer two whole days of usage.

The Huawei Band 7 is available in four silicone colorway options of Obsidian Black, Nebula Powder, Flame Red, and Wild Green. It starts at the exact same CNY 269 (US$40) as the Band 6, with the NFC model costing CNY 309 (US$47) versus the Band 6's CNY 349 (US$53).
