Huawei is allegedly planning to release the Band 6 and Band 6 Pro next month, thereby skipping the fifth generation of its Band series. The Band 6 series is expected to launch simultaneously with the P50 and P50 Pro.

We have already reported that Huawei will be releasing the Watch GT 3 series this year, which would succeed its flagship GT 2 Pro. However, a new report asserts that Huawei will release new fitness trackers before it brings any further smartwatches to market.

According to a report cited by Huawei Central, Huawei is on the verge of announcing the Band 6 and Band 6 Pro, rather than the Band 5 series as was previously thought. Apparently, Huawei plans to announce the Band 6 and P50 series simultaneously, on or around April 17.

It is unclear what the Band 6 series will offer compared to its predecessor. However, we would not be surprised if the Huawei Band 6 resembled the Honor Band 6, which the latter released globally in January. The Honor Band 6 has a 1.47-inch AMOLED display, a 180 mAh battery and a heart rate monitor, among other features. You can read more about the Honor Band 6 here.
