Leaked Huawei P50 renders position it as a smaller alternative to the P50 Pro with a flat display
OnLeaks has already published renders of the P50 Pro this week, but he has now delivered a first look at the P50 too. We should stress that it is impossible to verify these images currently, but OnLeaks has an excellent reputation for the accuracy of his smartphone leaks.
Unsurprisingly, the P50 looks a lot like the P50 Pro. For example, both share a gigantic camera housing, which is thought to protect the Sony IMX800, a 50 MP camera with a 1-inch sensor. If this is correct, then the P50 series would have the largest camera sensor of any found in a smartphone.
Additionally, the P50 has a glass back and a metal frame, just like the P50 Pro and almost every flagship smartphone that has been released in the last five years. According to OnLeaks, the P50 has a 6.3-inch display, 0.3-inch smaller than the P50 Pro's display. Accordingly, the P50 measures 156.7 x 74 x 8.3 mm, making it shorter, thinner, and 1 mm wider than its Pro sibling.
However, both have a single front-facing camera, an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers that also sit below their displays. The P50 has a flat display though, making it easier to hold than the curved display of the P50 Pro.
Huawei is expected to unveil the P50 series on April 17. New Huawei Band fitness trackers may be in attendance, too.
