Huawei is geared to release its next set of flagship devices, the Huawei P50 series, shortly. A leak has thrown light on the phones' camera hardware, revealing huge sensors across the board. However, expectant fans may be disappointed considering the hardware we've already seen on Xiaomi's show-stopping Mi 11 Ultra.

Huawei has constantly pushed the mobile photography game forward with each successive device in its photography-centric P-series starting with the P20 Pro three years ago. While there's much less of a gap than there used to be, Huawei will be hoping to flex its muscles once more with the upcoming Huawei P50 lineup, and some details of the phones have surfaced.

According to a leak by leakster @RODENT950, all three devices in the Huawei P50 series will sport huge main cameras. Reportedly, the vanilla P50, the P50 Pro, and the P50 Pro+ will all feature the IMX 707Y—a 1/1.18" RYYB sensor—as their main shooters.

This is in stark contrast to information from other quarters that claim the Huawei P50 Pro will debut the IMX800, a massive 1" sensor. Using the IMX707Y as reported would make the sensor on the Huawei P50 series less impressive than the 1/1.12" GN2 on the new Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra, for example.

Moving on, the regular P50 is said to use the 1/1.74" IMX600 as its ultra-wide shooter. That was the sensor used as the main camera on the P20 Pro, for some perspective. It's no longer a top-tier CMOS sensor but is solid enough. The P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ are slated to use the 1/1.34" OV64A as their ultra-wide shooters.

On the zoom end, the regular P50 is claimed to use the OV08A10 as its telephoto shooter, likely paired with a 3x optical zoom lens. The P50 Pro, however, is tipped for a 5x periscope lens, while the P50 Pro+ will offer both a 3x telephoto lens and 10x periscope lens for short and long-range zoom applications.
